Just the Job for Wendy

Posted by lostincci on May 17, 2010

Congratulations to CMCI’s most recent doctoral graduate Dr Wendy Burke, who has just been appointed Senior Lecturer in Film and Television Production at York St John University.

Wendy formally picks up her PhD at the July graduation ceremony and starts at York the following month. She wrote her dissertation on representations of occupation and resistance in Dutch films about World War II under the supervision of Dr Richard Howells. Wendy’s experience in both theory and practice of film and television clearly helped her to get the job at York. We are not sure how much Wendy’s fluency in Dutch will come in handy in Yorkshire, but believe that her experience on TV shows such as Byker Grove (yes, she worked with the young Ant and Dec) wil give her added kudos in the North.
