When Two (or more) Tribes….

In a break from party politics, CMCI’s Dr Ruth Adams appeared on BBC Radio 4‘s flagship “Today” programme on the morning of the General Election.
She was discussing whether ‘pop tribes‘ are still a recognizable phenomenon, or whether the internet era has made commitment to particular music or fashion styles a thing of the past. Ruth argued that pop tribes were still very much in evidence on social media, and that the emergence of ‘Milifandom’ (oops! politics again!) demonstrated that they could still possess a political dimension.
You can hear Ruth in action two hours 40 minutes in (despite what it says in the running order) at:  http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b05sxv75
